Dr. Ackler received his training from Michigan State University and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993.
Brittany grew up outside of Philadelphia, PA, and moved to Michigan in 1999. She always had an assortment of pets when growing up, including cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, and fish.
Alicia grew up in West Michigan where, at age 13, she became involved with various equine activities. She participated in Open Shows and 4-H, but found her true passion for dressage with her off-the-track thoroughbred named 'Daring Adventure'.
Chelsea joined the Mancelona Veterinary Hospital team in December 2017 after moving to the area from her hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
Since joining our team in 2006, Sandy has enjoyed serving all of the pets and families that come to Mancelona Veterinary Hospital.
Holly joined the MVH team in 2011 and has been a wonderful addition to our work family. When needed she has helped out in many areas of the clinic, but can typically be found handling important duties as one of our receptionists.
Born and raised in Antrim County, Megan Lee joined our team in October of 2016, after returning home from a 12 year stay in sunny Florida.
Maureen joined the MVH family in 2017. Her favorite part about working at MVH is experiencing the bond and love that people have for their pets.
Sig has been working part time at MVH since 2004 when both her kids started school. Now, her daughter is a college graduate and her son is a junior in college. She is mainly a veterinary assistant and occasionally at the reception desk. The animals she encounters make every day fascinating.
After working as a pharmacy technician for four years, Sami decided to follow the path that would show her love for animals. Sami joined our team in 2017 as an exam room assistant and shortly after started filling in as a receptionist.
Kayla has been a Certified Veterinary Assistant since 2014. She joined our team in 2016. She is an independent, hard worker with a love for animals. She looks forward to seeing all of our patients and their families.
Nikki is a graduate of Paragon School of Pet Grooming. She has over 23 years of experience in grooming both dogs and cats. She does a wonderful job working with both difficult dogs and geriatric dogs.
Amy joined the MVH team in the fall of 2017. Her love of animals drew her to her position as kennel supervisor. Playing mom to your fur babies, keeping them happy, comfortable, and relaxed while they are in our care is so fulfilling and brings her such joy!
Meet Riley! Riley has been a kennel attendant at MVH since 2016. She says this is the perfect job, as she wants to pursue veterinary medicine after graduating high school. She can often be found loving on our guests during their stay at MVH.
Kendra has been coming to MVH for the past three years and could often be found helping her mom, Nikki, in the grooming area. In the fall of 2018, she officially joined our team as a kennel attendant. She fits in wonderfully with our team and her love for animals is apparent in all she does.
Gilbert is a miniature pig who was born in August 2015. He loves to snack and rummage. Everyday is a new adventure as we watch him grow and learn. During the spring, summer, and fall, he can often be found outside in his play yard. During the winter, he prefers to snuggle inside under his blankets.
Sheldon is one of our clinic cats that adopted our MVH family in 2012. He loves to sleep and beg the staff for treats and food all day long. During the summer months, he enjoys long walks in the back yard of the clinic where he can eat all the grass he wants and snooze in the sun!
Graycee is our other clinic cat. This little girl is a bit more reserved. She prefers to watch from a distance. She loves to stalk the birds outside at the feeder and play hide and seek with us at closing time. Her favorite past time is lounging on her cat tower, soaking up the sunshine!
Zilla is our bearded dragon. He has been here at MVH since 2016. He is a sweet boy that enjoys taking baths and lounging in the sun. He can often be found people watching in his enclosure during the day. He is very observant!
